Just had to post this story because I said I would write about my funny students:
student: "Mrs. Deaton have you seen the movie 'Goonies'?"
me: "Of course, who hasn't? You must watch a lot of t.v.!"
student: "Yeah, I do. Heeeyyyyy yooooouuuuu guuuuuyyys!" (followed by a laugh exactly like Sloth's from Goonies)
I wasn't aware 8 year olds in 2009 liked that movie too, what a classic.
student: "Hey Mrs. D.J.!"
me: "Is that my new nickname?"
student: "Are you going crank it up tomorrow?" (as in music, my teaching, my personality????) "Too bad you're middle name doesn't start with a 'J', then it would be way cool."
